Blacktown Aquatic Centre is the home of Squads training. Squads is held by Blacktown Swimming Club, and helps support swimmers in achieving their full potential. The program offers three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold, tailored to develop skills and performance.

Description

Bronze Squad is designed to introduce swimmers to a competitive squad environment and competitions.

Swimmers are technically competent across all four strokes for 50m and will build upon their kick and pull whilst learning drills to further develop these strokes.

This squad begins to teach the necessary skills for racing such as track starts, backstroke starts, flip turns and touch turns.

It introduces Friday night club races and development meets to swimmers along with preparing them for
school swimming carnivals.

Required attendance

2-5 session weekly.

Description

Silver Squad is designed with aims to increase the swimmer’s technical understanding and training capacity for all four strokes.

Introduces fundamental aerobic capacity training for freestyle and individual medley along with anaerobic capacity training across all strokes.

Aims to further develop race specific skills, medley turns, relay changeovers and advances drills.

This squad prepares swimmers for races across all strokes at 100m, the 200m Individual Medley and the 400m freestyle.

The goal of the squad is qualification for Junior State Age Championships.

Required attendance

3-6 sessions weekly.

Description

Gold Squad is a performance-based program designed for higher levels of competition.

This squad further develops the aerobic and anaerobic capacity training system for swimmers.

It aims to advance race specific skills, progresses drills, grow knowledge of race preparation and introduces dryland training for swimmers.

This squad prepares swimmers for races across all strokes and distances from 50m to 1500m for the maximum achievement in these events.

The goal of the squad is qualification for Senior State Age Championships, Australian Age Championships and Australian Selection Events.

6-8 Sessions Weekly

Terms and conditions

Joining

  • You must complete an assessment with the Centre Swim Coach to determine which group your child is best suited to.

Membership

  • Your membership includes access to the squad sessions that are allocated by the centre Swim Coach. Minimum session requirements apply for each squad level.

Membership Pricing

  • Please note that all membership category prices are subject to review & change on a yearly basis in line with Blacktown City Council Goods and Services Pricing Schedule
  • Any member directly affected by a price change will be advised in writing at least one month prior to the price change coming into effect.

Cancellation Conditions

  • Cancellations must be received in writing wioth 1 months’ notice period
  • All pro rata and outstanding fees must be paid in full prior to cancelling
  • Fees are non refundable. 

Membership Cards

  • Membership cards are non-transferable and are for personal use ONLY
  • Membership cards MUST be scanned at reception before entry
  • A fee is applicable for replacement of lost or stolen membership cards
  • Members failing to comply with the above membership cards conditions will be deemed as an unauthorised entry
  • We reserve the right to review a member’s membership agreement status when repeated unauthorised entry occurs.

Rules of engagement

  • Time and instructor cannot be guaranteed
  • Squad sessions may be operated in the indoor or outdoor pools as required without prior notice
  • Please vacate the lane space as soon as possible after the completion of the session to make way for the next squad participants
  • Squad members must swim a minimum number of sessions per week depending on their squad level
  • Parents need to actively supervise their children in accordance with centre supervision guidelines.

ACU Squads program customers personal information will be shared with Debit Success in order us to provide this service to you. The security of your personal information is very important. Blacktown City Council and Debit Success have systems in place to protect your information. Your details will only be used for the intended purpose for which they were provided.
